William Robert Langmeyer

WILLIAM ROBERT LANGMEYER passed away mid-day on Sunday, March 17, 2024 amongst the loving presence of his family.

Anyone who knew Bill understood that he was overwhelmingly proud of his service to our country. He voluntarily enlisted in the Army and spent the entirety of his service in Vietnam. He was discharged on May 25, 1970, and awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Bill's patriotism and love for his country never waned—nor his love for Elvis Presley. Bill was also a fervent supporter of his grandchildren in their own journeys through schooling and budding careers (Acadia is an attorney, Abigail is finishing schooling to be a Registered Nurse, and Conner and Jake are making strides toward their dream jobs). 

Throughout Bill’s life, he shared his kind and generous soul with all who crossed paths with him—family, friends, and strangers. Everyone in his life could recall memories of Bill’s generosity and support. This generosity won him many life-long friends who visited the Langmeyer home at the end of Bill’s life and filled it with old stories, love, and respect.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Julia, and in return, she ardently cared for, supported, and loved Bill through his lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. His children, Katrina and Paul, were frequently there to offer assistance and comfort to their father and mother, especially towards the final months of Bill's journey.

Bill is survived by his dedicated wife Julia (nee Dodson); his daughter Katrina Palocko (nee Langmeyer) and her husband Gary; his son Paul and his wife Heather; and his grandchildren Acadia, Abigail, Conner, and Jake.

Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AUORORA RD (OH RT 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION ON THURSDAY, MARCH 21, 2024 FROM 4-8 P.M. Bill’s funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment Four Evangelists Mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery.
