Michael "Mike" Menhart

Michael “Mike” Menhart, age 71, entered into Eternal Life on January 18, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Cinderella Menhart for 42 years; father of the Chris (deceased) and Mike Jr. (Erin), Papa of Christopher, Orla and Catty; son of Paul and Marie (deceased); brother of Barbara Buda (Bob, deceased), Karen (Dave) and Paul; brother-in-law of Shirley Trusso (Rick); Anna Sickles (deceased, Gary), and Harry Souris; caring uncle to many nieces and nephews, and godfather as well; blessed friend of the Trussos, Shleprs and countless others. Special thanks to Katie Salzman, Michael’s devoted caregiver of eleven years, and Harry Souris, who has been more than a brother-in-law. Special thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve and to his nurse, Tina.

Michael was a proud United States Marine Veteran. Although disabled in 1968, he led a full and abundant life. He was a lifetime member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans where he was employed as a National Service Officer. He was awarded the Outstanding Veteran of the Year 1990 by the State of Ohio. He served the City of Macedonia as a Councilman and a Civil Service Commissioner.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening; he was a nationally-ranked disabled bass fisherman twice. His favorite pastime was playing poker with family members and friends, and he was a National One Pocket Billiard champion. 

Michael was a blessed member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2113 Ravena Road, Hudson, OH, where a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM, Officiated by Reverend Doctor Eric Tritten. Michael disliked dress clothes so feel free to dress casually in memory of him. The service will also be available on livestream at gloriadeihudson.org and later on YouTube.

Interment will be at Gloria Dei Columbarium.
