Mary Pollack

MARY POLLACK (nee Fill) age 93. Beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of Cheryl Walker (Tom), Joe (Pamela), Gary (Ruth) and Jim; treasured grandmother of Michael, Christopher, Joey, Amanda, Rachel, Mary, John Paul, Mathew, Stacey and the late Katie; dear great-grandmother of 17; dear daughter of the late Peter and Mildred Fill; adored sister of the late Christine, Frank (Mary), Nick (Jen) and George. Mary will be remembered as a kind, loving, devoted wife,  mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was being with her family. As a wonderful cook and baker Mary contributed years of gratifying work in the kitchen at St. Andrews Eastern Orthodox Church making pierogi and helping at the fish fries, always with a smile and a pleasant demeanor. With her husband Joseph she played tennis for decades, rode bikes, hiked in parks in Ohio and Michigan, and square danced. Many travels with friends and family included trips to Mexico, Hawaii, California, Vegas, Montana, Florida and the East Coast. She was quite the angler also, enjoying fishing in Florida, Maryland and in Ohio on the boat she and Joe kept in Vermillion where she caught two Fish Ohio trophy walleyes.

Mary’s family learned kindness to others, patience and the value of honest work from her loving example….we will miss you Mom.  Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (OH RTE 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION SUNDAY 2-6 P.M. IMMEDIATLEY FOLLOWED BY PARASTAS SERVICES AT 6 P.M. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OBSERVED Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Andrew Eastern Orthodox Church, 16029 Maple Park Dr, Cleveland, OH 44137 where Orthodox Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Theodosius Cemetery. Tributes in Mary’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Covenant House or a charity of your choice.
