James Tulloch

November 10, 1946 ~ July 24, 2022 (age 75)

Obituary

If you asked a hundred people who James Tulloch was, they’d all give you a different story. A brilliant mind. A secret agent. A handyman. A vocalist. A woodcarving whistler. A bald guy. A Fisherman. A superhero. A storyteller. A master gift wrapper. A coach. A friend that always had your 6. A husband. A father. A Grandfather. A Great Grandfather. Jim was all these things and so much more. Born on November 10, 1946, To Florence and James Tulloch and was the eldest of four children. He started his journey as Big Brother when his first sibling was born and continued that by volunteering with Big Brothers of America. Later when he finally got Patty to marry him, he moved that energy into raising his children and what seemed to be every other kid in the neighborhood. He taught us that “family” had nothing to do with blood but what was in your heart. He loved so many kids other than his own and they all knew he would be there for them. Mr. T was the man, the myth, the legend. Jim always had a special spark and chose to work in the electrical field for all his adult life. He had an unparalleled work ethic and worked until he was 74 1/2 years old making sure he could still help take care of his wife, children, and grandchildren. His greatest love was his wife, Patty Jean. They have loved each other since they were children. He would do anything to make her happy. Perfect example of Jim was the time she wanted a shower enclosure, and it could not be installed because they could not get the single piece into the house and make the turns necessary. So, in true Mr. T fashion he sent her shopping for the day and proceeded to cut the side of the house out and install a new shower then just simply put the house back together before she got home.  Happy wife, Happy life. He was a fierce supporter of this country and our military. He was so proud when his son joined the Airforce and lived vicariously through him for the love of country. He was an avid supporter of ending the plight of POW’s and the MIA. He loved Cleveland sports. He loved chocolate ice cream with pineapple topping. He loved mastering new hobbies. He loved playing cards with his friends. He loved to spend hours fishing. He loved camping. He loved life and taught us to not take it for granted and to work hard and never stay knocked down. Jim was world-renowned for his lack of patience in certain situations, not holding back his opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. It was the school of hard knocks and yes, we were told many times how he had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school, so suck it up. All whom loved him dearly will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, strength, and undying love and caring for them. He will be sorely missed and survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia Tulloch, his brother William Tulloch (Andrea), children: Patrick Alan Tulloch (Shannon), Megan Stokes (Joe Mylant), and Rebecca Rzeszut (Shawn), grandchildren: Andrew (Nicole), Mitchell, Evan, Madison, Delaney (Jon), Trevor, Mikey, and Ben, great grandchildren: Charlotte, Josie, and Ellie, and we cannot leave out the grand dogs Ping and Dumo since we all know he loved dogs more than us despite Pat’s efforts to curtail those feelings. Jim has respectfully requested that no one come to his service in a tie or suit. Relax and celebrate his life and the love he has given us all. Remember:

You don't tug on Superman's cape
You don't spit into the wind
You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don't mess around with Jim.
