BETTY J. BAILEY, age 87, of Westlake, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Betty was born on September 4, 1932 to parents August and Emma (Mioranza) Valli. She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Bailey, daughter, Susan Bailey, sister, Mary Cowell, brothers, Louis Valli, William Valli, and Eugene Valli, and niece Linda Starr. Betty is survived by her son David (Mike Zinicola) and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Betty lived with Multiple Sclerosis for almost 60 years. Never one to complain, she was one tough woman who kept on “pushing”, determined to live independently in spite of the unrelenting disease that chipped away at her body but never her beautiful spirit, easy going nature, and sense of humor. A longtime resident of Brookdale Westlake Village, Betty enjoyed an active life that was enriched by many friends and a fun loving, caring, and compassionate staff. Betty loved to bake for family and friends. Her Italian rum cakes and pizzelles are legendary. Outside of the kitchen she loved playing cards, her weekly manicures with flashy polish, an occasional cocktail, and the Cleveland Indians.
