RUSSELL EDWARD DUKE age 66, of Twinsburg, entered into eternal peace on April 23, 2021. Loving husband to Candace (nee Parsons) of 42 years; beloved father of Jamie Duke (Benjamin Heiser) and Danielle (William) Sturgeon; dear brother to Linda Duke and Gregory (Eleanor) Duke; cherished grandfather to Aiden and Mason Heiser and Liam Sturgeon; brother-in law to Deborah (Kenneth) Underwood; uncle to Tricia Baker (deceased), Matthew (Jill) Underwood, Stephanie Bruorton (deceased) (Josiah), Nathan (Jamie) Duke and Nicole Duke; great-uncle to Ryan, Tyler, Kyle and Justin Baker, Ella Bruorton, and Maverick Duke; cousin and friend to many. Russell was born October 29, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward and Stella Duke. He graduated from R.B. Chamberlin High School in Twinsburg where he played baseball and basketball. He attended John Carroll University for Math & Economics and also played baseball. Russ worked as a subcontractor installing flooring and retired in 2010. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, bowling and golf where he made many lifelong friends. He finally bowled a 300 game in 2015 and got a “Hole in 1” in 2019. Russ enjoyed hunting on his family’s farm in Pennsylvania with his uncles and cousins. Russ was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles (Aerie 2122). Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W AURORA RD (OH RTE 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION FRIDAY 4-8 P.M. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OBSERVED. Family and friends are invited to gather at SS Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, 10419 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087 where Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. To allow all who loved Russ to grieve together, a live stream of his funeral service will be available on Saturday at 10 a.m. at http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/52909 Interment Crown Hill Cemetery (Twinsburg).
