ROSEANNE WITMER (nee Iafigliola), a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021, at age 73. She was born in East Cleveland to Joseph A. and Rose (Trizzino) Iafigliola on June 13, 1947. After graduating from Collinwood High School, Rose chased her dreams of becoming a school teacher at Cleveland State University.
She taught Catholic grade school where she had a tremendous influence on so many students, parents, and fellow teachers. After receiving her Master of Arts in Educational Administration at Ursuline College, she became a Principal in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
Rose loved spending time with her family, including her children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Rose is the beloved mother of Larry J. (Maria) and Sharon (Gregory Bloxdorf); loving grandmother of Cory J. Witmer, Brandon M. Witmer, Lana M. Witmer, Michael J. Witmer, and Ana L. Bloxdorf; dear sister of Georgiana Carr (C. Patrick), Joseph M. Iafigliola (Margaret), Nick Iafigliola (Beth), Noah Iafigliola (Diane), Mike Iafigliola, and Joan Paskert (Mark).
In light of the COVID pandemic, we have opted to avoid a formal funeral home visitation. All are invited to gather at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 9080 Shepard Rd, Macedonia, OH on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate Roseanne’s life where we hope to maintain social distancing. To allow all who loved Roseanne to grieve together, especially those who can’t attend, a live stream of her service of Christian Burial will be available at http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/44297.
Interment following the ceremony will be at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH.
We kindly ask that in place of flowers, if you are able to donate funds toward the funeral service (as we hope to carry out all of Rose’s final wishes), please send them to the Witmer Family c/o Larry J. Witmer, 55 N. Chillicothe Rd., #100, Aurora, OH 44202.
Your voice, laughter, and warmth, no longer in our midst
When tomorrow starts without you, it really won’t seem fair.
We will always remember the last goodbye and kiss
Knowing that you will always be there!
Love you, Mom. May you rest in peace.
Larry and Sharon
