Richard "Rich" C. Sabol

RICHARD “RICH” C. SABOL, age 75, of Broadview Heights, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. Loving father of Debra A. Thornsberry (Brett), Denise M. Tomecko (Deacon Mark), and Richard J.; cherished grandpa of Grant and Allison; dearest brother of Joan Kawolics (Raymond), the late Ronald (Angie), James (JoAnn), twin brother the late Robert (Ruth); uncle, great uncle and friend of many.  

Rich was a competitive and talented athlete who especially loved playing baseball with his twin brother, Rob. He was a Benedictine High School graduate, and a U.S. Army veteran who served honorably in the Vietnam War.  Rich built a successful telecommunications business, driven by his meticulous work ethic and pursuit of perfection. He cherished family vacations to Myrtle Beach, loved watching the Cleveland Indians ("Schmindians"), and could always be counted on for his quick-witted sense of humor. 

Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (OHIO RTE. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 2025 FROM 4-7 P.M. All are asked to gather on Friday, January 31, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 606 E. Washington St., Medina, Ohio 44256 to celebrate Rich’s Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Rich’s name to Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
