Richard S. Plecha, Sr.

RICHARD S. PLECHA, SR. 86, Beloved husband of 53 years to the late Diane (nee Freeman); Loving father of Monica Boyko (Michael), Stephanie Steinmetz (Robert), and Richard Jr.; Cherished grandfather of Brianna Boyko, and Mary Grace Plecha; Dearest brother of Ruth Flere (Ray), and the late Janet Plecha; Dear uncle of Todd Flere, Brad Flere, and Doug Flere. U.S. Army Veteran. Richard was a world traveler who visited all 7 continents. He loved cooking, fishing, and being with friends from the Broadview Heights Recreation Center. His love of history focused on the Civil War, and antique firearms. Summer Sundays were spent with his beloved granddaughters and children at the pool. Richard was a devout Catholic who attended daily Mass when possible and had a special devotion to St. Joseph, St. Faustina, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and St. Anthony. Family and friends are asked to gather Thursday, January 8th at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church 8700 Brecksville Rd. Brecksville, Ohio for a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Richard’s life at 10:00AM. Inurnment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
