Richard James Markosky

RICHARD JAMES MARKOSKY, age 78, of Sagamore Hills, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024.  Beloved husband of 56 years to Carmela (nee Salvatore); loving father of Shelly M. Siegel (Neil W.), Richard D. (Gina), and Lori Peebles (Ed); cherished grandpa of Cory T. Skerl (Meghan), Juliana C. Skerl, and Olivia A. Peebles; proud and loving great-grandfather to Lucas C. Skerl; dear son of the late Charles and Sophia (nee Novkovitch). Cherished friend to his devoted caregiver, Ella. Richard truly loved all of his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. He was always at the ready with life, business, or real estate advice. He could always be counted on for a ride home from the airport or a cocktail and game of cards.  As a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, Richard served in the Vietnam War. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with his friends and cousins. Those who knew him would describe him as truly one of a kind - often quick with a witty remark or a cheeky joke. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. Funeral Thursday 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass 1:30 p.m. St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 9451 Brandywine Road, Northfield, Ohio 44067. Entombment in Four Evangelist Mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield. In lieu of flowers it was Rick’s wish that donations be made to his sister Kathy Mathies’ fight against cancer, via GoFundMe.
