RAYMOND “RAY” L. REVILLE III, age 73, of Northfield Center, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025. Born in Maple Hts, Ohio to the late Raymond L. Jr. and Mary D. (nee Zick). Ray met the love of his life, Cathie, in high school and they were married in 1971 where they were inseparable for over 42 years. They were the true definition of soulmates and lived a memorable and cherished life together.
Ray was the ultimate husband, father, son, brother, friend, and businessman. From the sidelines of many sporting events to his customers’ shops, he showed up for everyone he loved and met over the years. He was a proud family small-business man and loved the opportunity to work with his dad, mom, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and daughters over 45 years at Reville Wholesale and prior through their gas stations. He carried on with his consulting company, Small Business Solutions, until his retirement a few years ago.
The love that Ray and Cathie had for each other didn’t stay small as the door to their house was always revolving and open for those that needed a safe space. Their passion was in helping and feeding others, and one of their proudest achievements was running the St. Vincent de Paul community food bank out of their basement for over 25 years, until it was moved into the Rectory at St. Barnabas. In addition to the many-many-many things that Ray volunteered for, one of his favorites was being President of St. Barnabas St. Vincent dePaul for several years.
He was the original “girl (tomboy) dad”. He fostered his daughters love of all things sports, cars, camping, boating, skiing, business, and life. There was always a life lesson to be learned from him and his daughters, Cindy Reville, Tina Pudelski, and Cheryl Kotkowski will forever miss his guidance, support, and love. His son-in-laws, Jeff Pudelski and Ben Kotkowski were truly the perfect addition, and sons, to Ray. Especially at the end.
At last, his favorites, his true joy and purpose over the last 16 years. His grandchildren. Marianne, Caelan, Harry, and McKenna have lost their favorite. Their guy. He was the ultimate grandfather and papa that never missed a chance to see them. Whether at the many sporting events, school events, concerts, art festivals, etc. He was always there and always their biggest supporter. The sidelines will feel a lot emptier without him there. He was the best of the best.
Ray was the dear and loving brother of Mary Semon (Rick), Marge Massey (the late Gene), Jim (Maryanne), Bob (Joyce), Richard (Denise), Sue Seman (Bob), Mike (Susan), Tom (Lainee), Patti Maholm (Tim), and Ann Luketic (Tony), brother-in-law of John (the late Jan) Staub; preceded in death by his cherished sister-in-law Karen; beloved uncle and friend to many, especially his ride-or-die, Bob Corbus. We know Jim Shaw and Phil Howard were there waiting to greet him with the biggest hugs on the other side.
Ray and Cathie created a lifetime of love and memories for their family and friends. Their presence will be forever missed and while our souls are hurting, they are together once again. Where they always wanted to be.
In lieu of flowers, Ray and Cathie’s hearts were forever in charitable work and giving. Some of their favorites were Ohio Hands & Voices, which supports families with deaf or hard of hearing children (https://ohiohandsandvoices.org/), The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (https://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/), Nordonia Schools Scholarship Granting Organization (https://www.nordoniasgo.org/), or any local food pantry addressing food insecurity.
