RAYMOND J. MARTIN, age 87, passed away on June 25, 2025. Beloved husband of Nancy (deceased); cherished father of Anne Shirak, Paul (Nancy), John, James (Mandi); loving grandfather of PJ (Kristina), Emily (Joseph), Nicholas (Katharine), Sarah (Clancy), Meredith (Luis), David (Maelei); doting great-grandfather of Anthony, Ella, Juliana, and Raymond. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary (nee Kmec), and brother Albert. He was a caring uncle, great-uncle, and a warm-hearted friend to many.
Raymond graduated from Benedictine High School. He proudly served in Korea for the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated worker for the Ohio Bell System and AT&T. He was an active parishioner at St. Barnabas Catholic Church as an altar server, counter and Eucharistic Minister. He was an avid golfer, softball player, and devoted fan of the Benedictine Bengals and every Cleveland sports team. Raymond also enjoyed cooking his family’s traditional Slovak foods.
The family suggests donations in Raymond J. Martin’s name be made to Holy Family Home Health Care and Hospice, Parma, Ohio. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE CELEBRATED ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2025, AT 10:00 AM, ST. BARNABAS CHURCH, NORTHFIELD. Funeral at 9:30 am, at the funeral home. Inurnment at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio.
