Marilyn was a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching second grade for a couple of years in Shadyside, Ohio, she started her family. Chuck's work brought them to the Nordonia Hills area, where she was active in the PTA and North Summit Women's Club. Later, when their kids were grown, she was organizer of the Artistic Angel Arts & Crafts Show at the United Methodist Church of Macedonia for 11 years. Also, she served as delegate to the UMC's East Ohio Conference annual meeting at Lakeside for 12 years, was the wedding coordinator at the church, and helped put together a 650-recipe cookbook. For a number of years, she was a Welcome Wagon Lady for the Nordonia Hills area, which she greatly enjoyed. She and Chuck also enjoyed cruises to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean, as well as several trips out west. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and texting with the grandkids.
