LUCY E. MIROGLOTTA (nee Dennis), of Greater Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the age of 101. Her creative gifts, devotion to her family, and her faith left a deep impression on all who knew her during her remarkable long life.
Lucy grew up in Wellington, Ohio, where she met Carl Miroglotta in childhood. They married, raising their three children in North Randall and later Maple Heights.
She poured her creativity into work and her passions, from beauty school, photography, and floral design, to playing violin, sewing, ceramic art, and painting in many mediums. She was a member of the Hillcrest Art Club and The Martineer’s Group at St. Martin of Tours in Maple Heights.
Nothing brought her more happiness than a full house on Sundays and holidays. Her Italian heritage inspired many beloved dishes. She welcomed generations of family, serving her own mother’s signature wedding soup, detailed cakes, good conversation, and games. More recently, she never turned down dessert, particular to chocolate ice cream in a cone.
She was always sweet and thoughtful, and it was easy to relax in her company. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she cherished every moment with them. Even in her later years, she was always working on a puzzle, or word search while watching Wheel of Fortune.
Lucy was the beloved mother of Laura Fazio (John), Carol DiFranco (Jim), and the late Steven. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephanie Kess (Kevin), Natalie Treibatch (Irving), Angelo DiFranco (Sara), and Dana Wagner (Rick); the adored great-grandmother of David, Samantha, and Ethan Kess; Joey and Anthony Treibatch; Isla and Luca DiFranco; and Merrick, Mia, and Paisley Wagner. She was a devoted sister-in-law and a beloved aunt to her thirteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl; her parents, Theresa (née Schellag) and Jim Dennis; and her sister, Mary Dimora (Tony).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to her parish, St. Martin of Tours, 14600 Turney Road, Maple Heights, OH 44137. We take comfort knowing she is reunited in God’s loving care.
