Loren Marie McKeon, a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and friend to many, left us peacefully on All Souls’ Day, November 2, 2024. Born on January 29, 1960, Loren lived a very fulfilled life and had a deep love for her family and friends.
Loren graduated from Bowling Green State University where she met the love of her life, her husband Kelly. In 2003 she started an education consulting company with her brother Dave Mack and her good friend Monica Marx. Loren was incredibly honored to work with many schools and share in their mission. She believed education is “all about the kids and what is best for them,” a statement which she embodied through her work at McKeon Education Group the last 22 years. She truly loved working with the Principals, our MEG team members, and many students throughout the years.
Loren was passionate about her Catholic faith, Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, and her family and friends.
She was a remarkable individual who listened well and made all her family and friends feel so important and loved. Loren was the beloved wife of 41 years of Kelly, loving and devoted mother of Bryan, Lindsay Zapinski (Andy), Emily, Abbey, and Halle Lawless (Connor), the proud grandmother of Ella, Rose, and Olivia Zapinski, daughter of the late Harry and Rosemary Mack, and sister to Chris, Ellen Sheridan (Mark), Brian, Allan (Julie), Lynne Lloyd (Chris), and Dave (Meg).
Loren fought the good fight battling cancer for over 20 years. Our family would like to give a special and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brad Pohlman of the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Michelle Mackey-Sawyer of Broadview Heights Family medicine for the wonderful care they took of Loren and for walking beside her every step of the journey.
