Kevin Joseph Leary
July 14 1987 – February 10 2026
Kevin Joseph Leary passed away peacefully in Cleveland, Ohio, after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.
Born July 14th, 1987, Kevin grew up in Aurora, Ohio. From an early age, he had a big personality, a warm smile, and an easy laugh. A natural performer, he stole the spotlight at the elementary school talent show with his rendition of Weird Al Yankovic’s "Taco Grande". Lover of all things Cleveland, he and his friends formed the band "North Coast Envy" playing 2000s pop-punk shows.
Ever adventurous, Kevin and his partner Kaitie moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There, they found lifelong friends, embraced nature with their dog Caesar, developed a passion for disc golf, and Kevin performed as a stand-up comedian, sharing his humor with local audiences.
Kevin often spoke of love and kindness, and he lived those values fully. He will be deeply missed.
Kevin was the beloved partner of Kaitie Gretta; loving son of Mike Leary and Janet Leary Schultz; and bonus son of Sandra Donaldson, Tim Schultz, Shari Gretta, and Mike Gretta. He was a dear brother of Chris Leary and brother-in-law to Jessica; proud uncle to Oliver Leary; cherished nephew of Linda Cahlin, Joakim Cahlin, and Tom Leary; and devoted cousin to Kristen Leary and her children Kali and Phoenix, and Alex, Max, and Oliver Cahlin. He was a devoted dog dad to Sonny and a loyal friend to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held February 28, 2026, from 5–10 p.m. at Western Reserve Racquet and Fitness Club, 11013 Aurora-Hudson Road, Streetsboro, Ohio. Children are welcome. Guests are encouraged to dress casually; tennis shoes are recommended for court activities.
Donations in Kevin's memory may be made to Rescue Village (Novelty, OH) or the Greenville Humane Society (Greenville, SC).
