Julia Ruth Rizzo

JULIA RUTH RIZZO, age 15, of Sagamore Hills, entered peacefully into eternal life on Monday, November 11, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born on June 10, 2009, Julia was the beloved daughter of John J. and Heather M. (nee Spangler); loving sister of John F. and was the cherished granddaughter of John and Carol Rizzo and Jeff and Robin Spangler. Adored niece of Carolyn Victor (Josh), Marie Gelle (Steve), Erin Shafik (Aref), and Lauren Revock (Ryan). Beloved by her loving cousins Caitlyn, Joshua, Mitchell, Matthew, Ryder, Penelope, Kashmere, and Sage. Julia loved bike riding, hiking, sled riding, horseback riding, swimming, cheering on her brother at sporting events, getting a mani/pedi, taking an ATV ride, listening to live music, and hanging out with her cousins and her Nordonia classmates.

Julia touched many people with her smile and purity of heart. She only brought good to the world and taught everyone who met her about what is truly important in life.

Julia was fortunate to have a seemingly endless amount of love and support from family, friends, classmates, teachers, therapists, and many dedicated and loving medical caregivers. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses with Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, some of whom have known Julia for her entire journey.

In keeping with Julia’s love of the outdoors, nature, and a good party the family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Valley View Woods (Pavilion A), 13005 Schreiber Road, Valley View, OH 44125. This will be a casual, open house gathering from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Rain or shine, warm or cold. Celebration attire should reflect Julia’s bright and uplifting spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Julia’s honor to A Kid Again (akidagain.org) an organization that helps create year-round adventures for kiddos with life-threatening conditions and their families.
