Jim Piskura

JIM PISKURA, age 70,  formerly of Bedford, OH, died on July 3, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease. His deep faith in God gave him the strength and perseverance to deal with his health issues with grace and dignity for these past nine years. 

Devoted son of Andrew and Ann (Darrah) deceased; loving brother of Kathleen Lynch (Dennis deceased), Chuck (Mary); Margaret (deceased), Andrew (deceased), Thomas (Maureen), Michael (Rebecca Bidinotto), Joseph (Thor Haraldsson). Beloved uncle to Sean Lynch. Michael Lynch (Brittany McClinton), Kathleen Piskura and Kevin Piskura (deceased); Great uncle to Sydney and Keegan Lynch and Jenna Shlash. 

He began his employment with Heinen’s grocery stores at age 16 and continued to work his way up to manager and supervisor over the next 50 years. 

He was a devoted Catholic and served the Church in numerous capacities, teaching PSR and leading the Confirmation preparation program at St. Martin of Tours Parish for many years. He was active in Parish Council, RCIA, a Eucharistic Minister, and led Bible Studies. When there was ever a need, Jim was there to lend a hand. 

Jim was a great a loyal friend to many, and will be dearly missed. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit and entertained us with his hilarious impersonations. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed his trips to Disney World. 

He was a true-blue sports fan, especially supporting the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland hockey teams, taking in as many games as possible. 

His faithful journey with Jesus Christ was an inspiration to those who knew him. He was not deterred by his physical limitations and bore his suffering without self-pity or despair. 

Jim’s family requests no Floral Tributes 

Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church 14600 Turney  Rd. Maple Hs., Ohio 44137 where the  Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim’s life will be celebrated on Friday July 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. followed by Interment at Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION, FRIDAY AT ST. MARTIN OF TOURS CHURCH 10 A.M UNTIL TIME OF MASS AT 11 A.M.
