James Francis Hibler

On Thursday, March 4, 2021 James Francis Hibler, loving husband and beloved father of four, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Rocky River, Ohio on April 10, 1936 to Frank and Ada Hibler. He married the love of his life Shirley on July 12, 1958 and together they raised four children, Sheryl, Gayle (Kent), Christine and James (Joungyoon). Jim built his career in commercial refrigeration beginning as a journeyman. He worked for nearly two decades for Tyler Refrigeration working his way up to Vice President and Director before leaving and successfully starting and running his own company, Viking Refrigeration. An avid investor, Jim loved the stock market and read The Wall Street Journal daily. Even as a committed businessman, Jim always found time to do what he loved with whom he loved, including boating on Lake Erie with his family, playing late night card games with his close friends, and spending time on Longboat Key, Florida. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, his children, siblings Donald, Frank Jr., David, Robert, Rosemary; and his 12 dearly loved grandchildren. Family suggests memorial contributions in Jim's name to Catholic Charities Corporation Diocese of Cleveland 7911 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, OH 44102. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (ST RT 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION TUESDAY 2-4 and 6-8PM. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING OBSERVED. Family and friends are asked to gather Wednesday at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church 8700 Brecksville Rd.  Brecksville, OH for a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim’s life at 11:00AM.
