Ellen Ann Schmidt

ELLEN ANN SCHMIDT, age 87, of Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on April 13, 2025. She was born in Cleveland to the Late Joseph and Mamie (nee Ciha) Chalupa. Loving wife to the late Paul A. Schmidt, she is also preceded in death by her son Bruce Schmidt and her sisters Martha Evvs and Joanie Zimmer Lauren. Ellen is survived by her daughter Susan Schmidt. She was the cherished aunt of Linda Griffith, Patrick Evvs, Timothy Evvs, David Griffith, Ted (Teddy) Zimmer, and Douglas Zimmer. She is also survived by her best friend and soul sister Janice Schillero. Everyone who met Ellen loved her and saw what a beautiful person she was. She is loved and will be missed by her treasured caregivers Pam Fazio, Holli Simmons Groff, Kourtni Groff, and Jackie Cline.

Ellen loved her family deeply and was a woman of faith. She loved to cook, bake, garden, and work puzzles. Her family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from Home Instead and Crossroads Hospice. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA ROAD (RT. 82), SAGAMORE HILLS, ON FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 2025, FOR VISITATION FROM 4-7 PM. A service celebrating Ellen’s life and accomplishments will begin during the visitation at 6:30 p.m. A private inurnment at Northfield Macedonia Cemetery will occur at a later date.
