Chester Zukowski, Jr., 72, passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2025 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 16, 1953 in Newton, NJ to the late Chester and Eleanor Zukowski, Chet lived and breathed sports from a young age- a love that followed him through every chapter of his life. An avid baseball player through high school- and later a beloved umpire for the Philadelphia recreational softball league for many years- Chet graduated from Newton High in 1971. His calling in athletics guided him to earn a B.S. in sociology from Charleston University and a master’s in sports management from St. Thomas University. The adage "do what you love and never work a day in your life" perfectly captured Chet's career at Temple University. He was best known as the executive producer of the Temple men’s football and basketball radio broadcasts for over three decades. Chet also produced the athletics TV show “Temple Sports Now,” and earned a 1996 Philadelphia Telly Award. He cherished his many years representing the Cherry and White, the unforgettable memories, and the lifelong friendships he forged. Devoted dad, cherished grandfather, loving brother and true friend- Chet's warmth and genuine kindness left an everlasting imprint on everyone he encountered. His infectious enthusiasm, grateful spirit, quick-witted humor, and unwavering support touched countless lives, creating a legacy of compassion-and plenty of laughter- that will endure in the hearts of family, friends, and colleagues. He is survived by his three children: Jeffrey and his wife Kristyn, Christine and her husband Joshua, Jennifer and her husband CJ, his five grandchildren Karina, Jaxson, Noah, Oliver and Layla, his sister Debbie Pandiscia her husband Mike and his brother Michael.
