Betty Jane Lange

BETTY JANE LANGE (nee Seltzer), age 86, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Ernest “Ted” Lange; loving mother of Tracy Lange (Joyce), Pam Paltani (John), and Kevin Lange (Linda); devoted “Gramma” of Krista Spencer (Nathan), Nicole Lange, Tommy Paltani (Kate), Katie Paltani, Jack Lange, Henry Lange, and Mia Lange; special “Gigi” of Kamryn and Khloe Spencer. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents Edward and Catherine Seltzer, brother and sister-in-law Terry and Barb Seltzer, and brother-in-law Ron Lange. She is survived by her sister-in-law Barb Lange, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Betty was active in her children’s lives and served as PTA and Band Parent President. She worked as a secretary for Maple Heights City Schools and for Holmes Manufacturing until she retired. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family – her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were everything to her. Betty enjoyed her days reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching Days of Our Lives, shopping on QVC, spending time with friends, and most of all, traveling with her family.

Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD. (OH RT 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2026 FROM 2-6 P.M. Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. Interment Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested in her name to Hope in Focus, a nonprofit patient advocacy organization dedicated to transforming the lives of those affected by blindness caused by rare inherited retinal diseases including Leber Congenital Amaurosis, online at https://hopeinfocus.org/.
