Bernie Edward Thomas, Sr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, Bernie Edward Thomas Sr. After a lengthy illness, he transitioned from his earthly home to the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 10, 2025.

Bernie was born June 26, 1942, in Monteagle, TN to the late Charles “Ed” Thomas and Vivian Odell Thomas. In addition, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Judith Thomas (nee Ombler), and sister Wanda Isbell (Larry). He is survived by his brothers Danny Thomas (Loretta) and Rickey Thomas Sr. (Joyce); his children Tracy Lilley, Bernie Thomas Jr. (Michelle), Renee Peifer (Art), Charles Thomas (Dena); grandchildren Megan Thomas, Jake Thomas, Rebeca Stein, Weezer Stein, Matthew Dixon; great-grandchildren, Tegan Henderson, Landyn Thomas, and Emerson Dixon, as well as several extended family members.

Bernie lived a full and meaningful life with his happiest moments dedicated to his family and friends. Lovingly remembered as Big Bernie, Pappa, and Pops, he will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (RT. 82), SAGAMORE HILLS, FOR VISITATION, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2025, 12-2 PM, to celebrate Bernie’s life.
