Bernice Marie "Cookie" Copeland

BERNICE MARIE “COOKIE” COPELAND; 82, was born January 10, 1943, in Bedford, Ohio and peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2025, at McGregor Gardens. Cherished daughter of the late Audrey Esther (Nee Webb) and Raymond S. Copeland; Loving mother of Rick A. Copeland; Dearest grandmother of Bailie D. Copeland, and Richard A. Copeland; Dear sister of Alva (the late Barbara), the late Raymond A. (Dorothy), and the late Hope Ann; Dear aunt and friend of many. Her early childhood was spent in Champion, Ohio. She graduated from Champion Public Schools. She maintained contact with school friends by attending yearly luncheons with classmates and telephone contacts. She also graduated from Cuyahoga Community College and earned her B.A. from Capital University. Cookie was a faithful friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. She enjoyed meetings, fellowship, and attending Women’s Luncheons and Conferences. She traveled to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Washington D.C. She visited the White House and exchanged hugs with First Lady, Michelle Obama. She accepted Christ and later joined New Community Bible Fellowship Church. She dedicated her life’s work to helping men, women, and families resolve substance abuse issues. She was last employed at ORCA House, Inc. as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. She enjoyed watching sports! Football was her favorite sport, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were her favorite team! She and Myrtle spent Sundays watching football together. She enjoyed family gatherings, going to the theatre and concerts. Motown and “Oldies but Goodies” were her favorites. She leaves the memory of attending 18 Gladys Knight concerts. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones. Family suggests memorial contributions in her name to New Community Bible Fellowship Church 3557 Washington Blvd. Cleveland Hts., OH 44118.
