ALYSSA LYNN DENNEWITZ, age 25, passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Beloved daughter of Andrew and Debra Dennewitz (nee DePasquale); dearest sister of Laura Dennewitz, Stephanie Barnes (fiancé Jordan Knabb), and Nicole Diorio (fiancé Michael Wcislo); loving aunt of Jackson Knabb, Madison Cox, Veran Diorio; granddaughter of Judith DePasquale (nee Marik), the late Earlando Michael DePasquale, the late Kenneth Neil Dennewitz, the late Laura Virginia Dennewitz (nee Hupp), and the late Charlotte Maxine Purvis (nee Shelton); caring girlfriend of Blake Swisher. Alyssa is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Alyssa was a 2017 graduate of Twinsburg High School and furthered her education at Kent State University. Alyssa’s faith and relationship with God was powerful. She regularly attended The Collective, a young adult group, at NEO Church. Prior to The Collective, Alyssa also attended Fusion Student Ministries, a youth group, at Stone Creek Community Church. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she volunteered her time at Vacation Bible School for many years.
She enjoyed giving back to Akron Children’s Hospital in the form of holding Band-Aid drives. She collected Band-Aid donations on behalf of the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders throughout the years.
Alyssa loved spending time with family and friends, attending Cleveland Browns football games, and planning events and parties. She was passionate about setting goals, big and small, for herself every day. She used inspirational quotes to motivate herself and others through challenging times. No matter Alyssa’s circumstances, she continued to persevere, even in the depths of her illness. Alyssa knew how to make everyone smile and laugh with her sass and quick wit.
Private services for the family will take place with interment at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.
