Alice Jean Lightbody

Alice Jean (nee Eby) Lightbody, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully with family on January 5, 2026. Born May 4, 1937, in Youngstown, Ohio, Alice was the daughter of the late Mildred (nee Kaulis) and Leonard Eby. She married Robert E. Lightbody on October 6, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2004. Alice is survived by her three beloved children: Rob (Holly Bloom), Douglas (Diane), and Jennifer Lightbody. In addition to her children, she is survived by her five grandchildren: Kaya Holt (Alexis), John, Julia, Andrew, and R. Evan. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Maya. In addition, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Her family and friends will miss her thoughtfulness, generosity, and adventurous spirit. A gracious hostess of countless parties and gatherings, Alice loved baking, crafts, flower arranging, and sewing. She was an avid reader and a life-long learner. Alice will be remembered for her compassion and fearless protection of those she loved. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to either Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, or your local food bank.
