Obituary

ROGER R. EVERETT, 86, of Macedonia, passed away July 16, 2026. Beloved husband of 38 years to Donna L. (nee Vandine); father to the late Erik Mitchell and the late Christine Mitchell; Stepfather to Valerie Cook (Josh), and the late Brian Swisher; Grandfather to Dustin Mitchell (Kristine), Elizabeth Spearance (Rusty), Tyler Rinehart, Levi Swisher (Adelina); Great grandfather to Amarya, Indie, Elijah, Emma, Hailey, Victoria, and the late Peyton; Brothers-in-love to Bill Sobecky and Ted Glowacki. Roger was born November 7, 1960, in Cleveland to his parents the late Clyde and Gladys Everett. In 1960, Roger graduated from Boston High School in Peninsula and started a band that same year with Bill Sobecky called “The Panicks”. They played in local venues including the Boston Ski Lodge. In later years, he formed a band called “The Band G” with Ted Glowacki, playing in various venues. Roger was known as an outstanding drummer, woodworker, and was a jack of all trades. He was also known as an electronic wizard. In his earlier years, he managed several Radio Shacks in the area and in Florida. Life then took him to work for Kmart in Macedonia where he was assistant manager until his retirement. The family would like to offer special thanks to the nurses and staff at Inpatient Hospice of Medina for the wonderful care they gave to Roger and for making his final days comforting and peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The City Mission of Cleveland. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W AURORA ROAD (ST RT 82) SAGAMORE HILLS, where a funeral service celebrating Roger’s life will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. VISITATION 12NOON UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE. Private burial will take place at Boston Cemetery, Peninsula, Ohio.
