ROBERTA THERESE KNISELY (nee Haney), 55, of Macedonia, passed away September 30, 2026. Beloved wife of 26 years to Ted A.; Loving mother to Ted W. (Julie), and Samantha J.; Cherished grandmother to Savannah B.; Dearest daughter to Jeanie P. Haney (nee Kachurik) and the late Robert B. Haney; Dear sister to William R. Haney (Peggy), and Mark J. Haney (Cheryl); Daughter-in-law to William J. Knisely and Madeleine L. Knisely (nee DeCaprio); sister-in-law to Rick J. Knisely and the late William M. Knisely (Kim, living); aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Our beloved Roberta was a woman who found so much joy in the people, animals, and little things that made life special. She was happiest when she was talking about her family, and she could tell anyone who would listen about the people she loved and the dogs who were such an important part of her life.
She had a gift for making ordinary moments feel personal and special. She loved using her Cricut to create personalized gifts for the people she met throughout her life. Giving was one of the ways she showed people how much she cared. She was thoughtful, generous, and always looking for an opportunity to make someone feel remembered.
Her dogs brought her endless happiness. She loved grooming them, making sure they looked their absolute cutest, and proudly sharing them on social media. Many quiet afternoons could be found with her cuddled up with her dogs, reading a good book. She was an avid reader and loved nothing more than settling into a cozy spot with a story and her furry companions nearby.
She also had plenty of ways to keep herself entertained. She adored her favorite show, Blue Bloods, and it was not unusual to find her on the couch in the living room playing Call of Duty on the PlayStation. She enjoyed baking and had recently discovered a real talent for making sourdough bread. She would occasionally knit a blanket, filling her home with things she had created with her own hands.
Her home was a reflection of her. She loved cozy décor and took every opportunity to surround herself with the things she loved and the memories that meant the most to her. She was organized in just about every aspect of her life, and she had a way of making her home feel warm, comfortable, and welcoming.
She loved bringing people together. She would plan trips, outings, and special occasions simply because she wanted her family all in one place. She enjoyed double dates with her husband, Ted, and her best friends, Nichole and Ray, getting out to enjoy local music, discovering local spots, and making memories together. She understood that the best moments in life were often the ones spent with the people you love.
She also found joy in the quiet moments. Every summer, she would pick out potted plants and lovingly nurture them throughout the season. More recently, she became interested in feeding and watching the local birds, often sitting by the window in her home office and enjoying their visits. And she was rarely without her camera, always taking photos of the people around her because she understood the importance of preserving memories.
Above all, she was a kind and loyal friend. She was never judgmental and always seemed to find the nicest way to say something. She had a way of making people feel accepted and cared for. She was the kind of friend who would check in on others even when she wasn't feeling her best herself. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved, often without expecting anything in return.
She was a wonderful friend to many, a devoted member of her family, and someone whose warmth touched countless lives. We will miss her beautiful smile, her warm hugs, her kindness, her stories, and all of the little things that made her uniquely her.
Most of all, we will miss simply having her here, the person we could talk to, laugh with, make plans with, and come home to. Her memory will live on in the people she loved, the traditions she created, the gifts she made, the photographs she captured, and the countless moments she made special simply by being part of them.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
