Obituary

PASQUALE "PAT" VANNI, age 83, passed away on October 10, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte L. (nee Ehas); dear father of Steve (fiancee Peggy Flanik) and Laura Kunz (Ken); father-in-law of the late Joanne; loving grandfather of Jacqueline Gross (Stephen), Nicholas (Olivia), Kevin Kunz (fiancee Samantha Pelham), Zachary Kunz, and Jordan Kunz; brother of James Vanni, John Vanni (Phyllis), and the late Julian Vanni (the late Rosemary).

Pat Vanni beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength. Born on November 30, 1940, to Frank and Mary Vanni in Cleveland, Ohio, Pat grew up embodying the values of hard work and kindness instilled in him by his family.

A proud graduate of Cathedral Latin High School in 1959, Pat's life took a joyful turn when he met his soulmate, Charlotte Ehas, at a church social. Their love story blossomed, culminating in a beautiful marriage on September 14, 1963. Together, they built a wonderful life and family over 54 cherished years, until Char's passing in 2017.

Pat was a man of many trades, with the most memorable being a career as a real estate appraiser at Vanni & Associates, where he worked alongside his mother and brothers. After retiring, he embraced a new role as a security guard at Northfield Racetrack, dedicating 15 years to this position before enjoying his well-deserved retirement.

Throughout his life, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing in his youth, as well as the life-long sports of golfing and bowling. He was proud to be the first to achieve a perfect game at Roseland Lanes in 1968, where he continued to bowl in leagues until his final days.  Pat also delighted in daily visits to his favorite restaurants and enjoyed casino trips in the hopes of the 'big win'.

A four-time cancer survivor, Pat faced life's challenges with unwavering courage and resilience. He never complained, instead radiating gratitude toward the doctors and nurses who supported him through his journey. His remarkable strength and perseverance were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Above all, Pat adored his family and was best known for his unconditional love and generosity. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished. From the moment you met Pat, you knew you had a lifelong friend. He will be remembered as a kind, sweet, loving, patient, and compassionate man whose spirit touched the hearts of many.

Pat Vanni leaves behind a rich legacy of love, laughter, and friendship. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
