Odess C. Balis, beloved uncle and dear cousin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was born in Tsipina, Greece, on February 14, 1940.

Odess was preceded in death by his parents, Kalomoira and Constantine Baliakos, and his five siblings, all of whom lived in Greece. He is remembered by many nieces and nephews, as well as his dear cousins Diana Steffas (late John) and Fran Tartara (late Tim).

Odess was a proud graduate of Cleveland State University, where he earned a degree in Political Science. He dedicated much of his career to serving at the Veterans Administration.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at 9:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22 at St Paul Greek Orthodox Church.

Interment will take place at St. Theodosius Orthodox Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Odess's name to the Benevolent Fund at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 4548 Wallings Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133.
