Obituary

Michael Joseph D'Amore, 77, of Warren, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, in Georgia. Born on April 11, 1947, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, Mike was the beloved son of the late Joseph G. and Nancy L. Ruggeri D'Amore. Michael proudly attended Warren G. Harding High School and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he cherished family, camaraderie with fellow Marines, and life's simple pleasures. Michael excelled in swimming during high school and later enjoyed softball and golf. His greatest joy, however, was his family. On September 11, 1971, he married the former Cheryl Lynn Hurst and together they shared a passion for travel, often visiting their daughters. Pawleys Island, South Carolina, became a favorite destination for golf and relaxation by the beach. Mike is survived by his "three beautiful daughters," April (Brad) Bezilla, Ashley and Amy D'Amore, as well as his brother Joseph (Julie) D'Amore and sister Shirley (William) Parker. Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife Cheryl, treasured granddaughter Alexis Grace Bezilla, and his sister Carol Ann (Robert) Nestor. A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. Mary Church in Warren with burial to follow in Howland Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, https://www.garysinisefoundation.org .
