Leona "Lee"
C. Letterle
Dec 18, 1931 — Mar 17, 2025
LEONA "LEE" C. LETTERLE of Northfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. She was born in Garfield Heights on December of 1931 to the late George & Catherine (Evans) Letterle. She is predeceased by her brothers Leonard (Marion) and Donald (Pat). She was the cherished Aunt of William "Bill" (deceased), Rose Newman, Dave (Pam), Don (Sara), Mary Marshall (Dave), Tom (Doris), Peggy McCaffrey (John) and Dan (Barb). She was also the Great-Aunt and Great-Great-Aunt to many! As a young woman of faith, Lee joined the convent with the Sisters of Humility of Mary where she prayed and taught as a Catholic sister, and took the consecrated name of Sister Gonzaga. Lee secured her doctorate in education, and for at least a day insisted we call her Dr. Lee Letterle. She taught for many years and retired from the Brecksville School district. Lee served as a Eucharist Minister and participated in the St. Barnabas Bell Choir for many years, her music skills extending to guitar and drums. She travelled extensively, her adventures including Ireland, China, Russia and many European countries. "Dr. Lee" was fun to be around, a huge sports fan with a marvelous cackle of a laugh, a kid at heart, and a treasure to her family and Church. We will miss her. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in her name to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Sisters of Humility of Mary: Villa Maria, PA . The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at The Reserve at Brentwood in Northfield and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice for their warm and caring support these last few years. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (ST. RT. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION SATURDAY 9:00-10:30AM. Funeral Saturday 10:30 at the funeral home.
