Obituary

LARRY EDWARD ANGBRANDT, 88, of Richfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in his home, surrounded by family.

An avid gardener and outdoor enthusiast, Larry cherished hunting, fishing, and traveling. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962 before beginning a long career in the automobile industry. Larry was dedicated to his community, volunteering as a Boy Scout leader with the Blue Water Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as a member of the Port Huron High School Band Boosters, serving as president of the Parent Teacher Association, and helping with the annual Salvation Army holiday food drive. After retiring from the automobile industry, he continued his commitment to service by volunteering in the mail room at Port Huron Hospital for several years. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Huron, MI, where he served as an usher for many years. In 2017,  he moved to Richfield, Ohio where he enjoyed putting together puzzles with his family, volunteering at the local senior center, and was an active member of St. Victor Catholic Church.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey Jean (Jawor) Angbrandt; his parents, Mildred (Spielberg) and Edward Angbrandt; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ford Hebner; and son-in-law Dennis Schultze. He is survived by his daughters: Gayle Angbrandt of Frankfurt, Germany; Carrie Hamberg (Dave) of Wilder, KY; Deborah Duffy (Michael) of Alexandria, KY;  Maureen Ahmann (John) of Richfield, OH; and Heather Cole-Lively (Steven Lively) of Akron, OH. He is also survived by grandchildren Ashley Nasca (AJ), Megan Kamer (Ted), and Zachary Hamberg; Bryan and Alexander Duffy; Lauren, Jennifer, and Joseph Ahmann; MacGregor Cole; and J.T. Lively; as well as siblings Ronald (Beverly) Angbrandt; his loving caregiver Dawn Preiksa; and his grand dog Kirby who brought so much joy to his life during the last few years.
