Obituary

JOSEPH B. "JOE" DORN, age 89, of Sagamore Hills, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. Beloved husband of 62 years of Kathryn A. "Kit" (nee Simpson); loving father of Karen M. Wischmeyer (Tom), Gregory S., Michele A. Perry (Michael), and the late Mark J.; father-in-law of Michele Dorn; devoted granddad of Ashley Booher (Ross), Michael, Stefani Wischmeyer (fiance Rob Arko), Gregory, Brandon Schickler (Vaniesha), Logan Schickler (Kristen), Craig Wischmeyer, and Noelle Dorn; great granddad of Kamden and Jayden; dearest brother of twin sister Josephine Mantheiy (the late Frank), and the late Sr. Rosanna Dorn, OSU; Joseph was a longtime member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Joe liked working with his hands in woodworking, construction and corvette restoration. He was an avid amateur golfer in his early years. He enjoyed playing golf with his family. Joe enjoyed baseball, watching both the Gaurdians and his grandsons play. He loved the wonders of the universe. He studied the solar system and built exceptional telescopes to view the planets and stars. Most of all, Joe loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joseph B. Dorn was a special man. Joe was retired from Parker Hannifin. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (OHIO RTE. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2024 FROM 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Funeral Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to either Boys Town or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
