Joan
Mitchell
Sep 27, 1938 — Oct 22, 2024
JOAN MITCHELL (NEE BISHOP), age 86, of Twinsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Harry T. "Mitch"; loving mom of Linda Cox (David); cherished Mee Mee of Tyler Trusnik, Jonathan and Jason Cox; daughter of the late Charles Bishop and the late Pauline Lane; step-daughter of the late Dorothy Bishop; dearest sister of Shirley Tischer (August), Debra Dawson, and all of the following deceased siblings William Sanford Bishop, Jack Bishop, Edna Pace, Charlsie Williford, and Betty Brown. Joan was born in White Pine, Tennessee. As a child, Joan had to grow up quickly, as she lost her mother when she was only 10 years old. She eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio and was working as a waitress at Buden's Restaurant where she caught Mitch's eye. They married in 1959 and spent most of their years living in Maple Hts., Ohio, and were happily married for 46 years until Mitch's passing in 2005. The simple things in life are what brought Joan the most joy. She enjoyed Starbucks coffee, going to dinner and watching Ohio State, the Cleveland Browns, and Guardians. What brought her the most joy was being a grandmother, or Mee Mee, as her grandsons affectionately called her. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandsons and attending their various sporting events. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD.
