JAMES W. BANE, age 83, formerly of Warren, Ohio, passed away on June 25, 2026. Loving husband of Pamela Bane (nee Lowry) for fourteen years; proud father of Shannon Bane and Jamie Bane; stepfather of William Wade (Kristin), Robert Wade (Elizabeth), Jonathan Wade, and Christian Wade (Jennifer); adoring grandfather of James Spence, Jakob Bane, Christopher Jervis, Nikolas Jervis, Noah Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon, Marian Sheldon, Austin Wade, Kayla Kornrumpf, and Abigail Wade. James is the son of the Late William and June Bane of Warren.

James has spent a lifetime making friends through music. He has curated and fostered those relationships through education and experiences many dream of. While musical talent has brought accolades, James’ spirit has fostered friendships throughout the country, beginning in high school at Warren G. Harding. Following graduation, James received a Bachelor of Music from Ohio State University in 1965. By 1978, he had achieved a teaching certificate from Cleveland State, a Master of Music through the Cleveland Institute of Music, and an Honorary Doctor of Music from the National Conservatory of Music. James was the Director of Instrumental Music at Cleveland Heights High School for 27 years before retiring in 2001. For an encore, James turned his sights to collegiate education, becoming the Professor of Music Education at Hiram College, followed by Baldwin-Wallace University.

Musical talent and the ability to educate, form connections with family and friends, and inspire many to move on to do wonderful things are only a small part of who James Bane was. He will be missed by many. Private family services will be observed.
