Obituary

GLENN T. PISANI, age 71, of Chagrin Falls, passed away peacefully in his home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Glenn was born in the Cleveland area and never strayed too far from home. He made his highly successful career and living in the automotive industry. In fact, during his 50 plus years in the business, he became somewhat of a legend in his own right. He was a principled man whose "integrity was far more important than any car deal." If you ever bought a car from Glenn, it's unlikely you ever again bought a car from anyone else. In spite of his success, he touted his two children as his greatest accomplishments. His daughter, Carly (and definitely the favorite), went on to become an attorney. He was beyond proud to have his son, Kyle, follow in his footsteps, finding the same great success in the car business. Glenn wore his heart on his sleeve and was the proverbial "people person." He lived life in the fast lane and did everything to the extreme. Glenn's glass was always half-full. He loved life and had immense passion for his family, golf, the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland sports, high-line vehicles, rock n' roll music, and designer clothing. Glenn was always dressed to the nines and was likely the only patient to ever have his hairdresser summoned to the Siedman Cancer Center for a haircut. He was a naturally gifted athlete and a jack-of-all-trades. Glenn was inherently smart, extremely generous, witty, charismatic, sensitive, spiritual, adventurous and rather fearless. Glenn also seemed to know a rather baffling number of people. Whether in an elevator in San Diego, or at the Vatican in Rome, nowhere was too far for him to run into someone he knew. Of course, Glenn was not without faults. As his condition progressed, he also grew progressively more stubborn. Unless you were willing to break him out of the hospital at 2:00 a.m., he did not want to be helped or to be seen as weak. Even in his last days and weeks, he was often seen shooing people away if they tried to lend a hand and wanted no one to know that he was struggling. Though Glenn was far from an easy patient, he expressed in some of his final words his deep love and sincere gratitude for his most loving wife, loyal caregiver, longtime companion, and soulmate, Cathy. The end of his journey was not without difficulty. Today, we can all take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering. With the exception of his first marriage, Glenn somehow managed to succeed at everything he ever did in life. He loved a good challenge, did nothing half-ass, and took great pleasure in being the underdog. Sadly, his battle with cancer presented the only set of odds that he wasn't able to beat. It will come as no surprise to those who know his story that even in his final hours, he was still fighting for his kids and deeply worried about his family in his absence. His undying love for them, herculean strength (paying homage to his faithful dog and man's best friend, Hercules), and relentless will to live moved many to the core. Though we will forever mourn his loss, Glenn went out on his own terms, with comfort in knowing that he had achieved his greatest purpose – and then some. Glenn is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine M. (née Roddy); his children, Carly L. Snavely (John) and Kyle V. (Courtney), who loved their dad more than life itself. He was the loving and proud "grandpa" of Ryder, Bailey, and Paisley; dear brother of Fred Pisaneschi (Cecilia) and Carol Rader (the late Paul); brother-in-law of Jack, Michael, Patty, the late Joey, Jimmy, Brian, and Kevin, and their respective spouses, all of whom loved him like a brother; uncle, great uncle, and friend of the masses. He was preceded in death by his late parents, Fred F. and Sunta M. Pisaneschi (née Speno). He will forever be missed and remembered for his enormous personality, infectious laugh, and fervor for life. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD.
