David D. Maag of Hudson passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer on March 29, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1959 and grew up with his five siblings in Tallmadge, where he graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1977. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Karen, while attending Kent State University. They were married in October 1980 and raised three children together. He was an incredible father and grandfather. Son of the late David L. and Freda G. Maag (nee Summers), beloved husband of 45 years to Karen (nee Janovics), loving dad to Adam C. (Shelby), Amanda M. Jerele (Ryan), and David L.; proud grandpa to Elijah, Fiona, and Olivia; dear brother to Vicky Kilway (Greg), Karen Johnson (Tom), Robin Hirsch (Dave), the late Michael and the late Mary Maag; cherished uncle, great uncle and extended family members and friend of many. At 26, he founded Prestige Interiors Inc., and over the years, he employed more than 100 people, creating not just a successful business, but lasting relationships. Dave maintained strong friendships throughout his life. He started golfing in high school and continued playing nearly every week with lifelong friends in their GBGA league. Some of Dave's favorite memories were family beach vacations with his children and later his grandchildren. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (ST. RT. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2026, FROM 4-8 PM. Funeral 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dave's life 10:00 a.m. St. Mary Parish, 340 North Main Street, Hudson. Interment to follow at Markillie Cemetery, Hudson.
