Obituary

On the morning of June 27th, our beloved Cindy passed on. She leaves us with an abundance of beautiful memories and inspiration for a life well-lived.

There was a certain ease about Cindy—her warmth was felt immediately. She was easy to be with and easy to talk to. She was thoughtful and wise. She had deep intuition and unwavering strength.

Her journey began in the home of her loving parents, Mary and Joseph Mesaros. She learned patience and laughter and how to savor food from the earth. She developed what would become a lifelong appreciation for the art of living slowly—lingering with a hot cup of coffee, a good book, a scoop of butter pecan ice cream, a round of Scrabble with her Aunt Stella, an afternoon spent in the sunshine. Her early years were filled with family and close friends whom she carried through life.

Cindy and Edward's love story began when she was sixteen. They shared letters for years, fell in love and learned to navigate life together. Cindy became a nurse, while Ed embarked on sales after an education in architecture and the military. They built a family: Heather was first to arrive and then Christine shortly after. Along with Ed, Cindy taught her daughters everything they know while also—in her magical way—allowing them to discover life's lessons all on their own. She instilled in them a boundless curiosity and an inclination to seek out the beauty in life. She was always present to teach, to love, or to laugh joyfully. Cindy and Ed traveled the world with their daughters and embraced a full life. They grew together, ever evolving over time.

Cindy's roles in life were of utmost importance to her: daughter, niece, nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt, sister and friend. Somehow, Cindy juggled it all—sewing the curtains and making the meals, floating in the pool, cooking for celebrations, wearing a perfect manicure, sunning in Florida with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. She cared for her daughters relentlessly, and always had time for a chat morning, noon and night. She'd hop in the car for a quick shopping trip whenever asked. When her daughters married, she was overjoyed to welcome her sons-in-law Kevin and Scott, who were a constant source of pride and mirth. She adored her grandson, Ellis, and spent an enormous portion of the last five-and-a-half years by his side. He'll forever remember his Iya.

Cindy surrounded herself with friends and family, chosen sisters and beloved pets for life's moments big and small. She lifted others up. She made everyone believe that maybe it wasn't as hard as it felt. She left an impression on our hearts, one that will last forever.

To a life well-lived—rest in peace our beautiful Cynthia Marie.
