Obituary

CURTIS XAIVER WALKER, 42, of Garfield Heights, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Beloved husband of Jessica (nee Braddock); Loving dad of Cameron and Amelia, and eldest daughter Emilee Baum; Dearest son of the late Charles Walker Jr. and the late Verneatha Walker (nee Orr-Roberts); Dear brother to Charles Walker III, and Cheri Walker; Beloved grandson, nephew, uncle, great uncle and best friend to many. He was born on November 22, 1983, in Wilmington, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, Curtis attended the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. Prefilling his lifelong dream and successful career as a chef working at several esteemed establishments, including Disney World and many years at the World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida. Curtis married Jessica on August 8, 2025, sharing 15 amazing years together, building a beautiful (crazy) and adventurous life, along with their two children. Curtis was known for his warm personality, infectious smile, thoughtfulness, his distinctive voice, jokes, and kind heart. He always seemed to know the right words to say to you. Curtis accepted people exactly how they were and making you feel comfortable talking and confiding in him. A devoted husband, father, family member and friend, he was a protector and a source of strength for the people he loved. Curtis consistently put the needs of others before his own, regardless of the challenges he faced. He was everyone's calm, peace, and security blanket. Always ready with a good laugh whenever you needed it the most and was especially known for his amazing hugs, that would instantly calm you when you were feeling overwhelmed by your own storms. Curtis's love and passion for cooking was evident in every memorable dish he made. The many hours Curtis spent in the kitchen were some of the proudest, challenging, but funniest times in his career. Those memories he shared with many coworkers who turned into friends and eventually into family will always live in the hearts of those who knew him. His quick wit, clever humor and beloved "dad" jokes will greatly be missed. Curtis was a one-of-a-kind man, who made a mark on anyone he met. Above all, Curtis will be remembered for the remarkable man he was and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD.
