Obituary

CHARLES ROBERT PILNY, age 81, was reunited in spirit with the love of his life, his beloved wife, Dorothy M. Pilny (nee Sitko), on October 15, 2026. After a lifetime devotion to his family, friends, community, and the many beloved K-9 companions who shared his life, Chuck leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, kindness, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Chuck was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. Pilny; loving father of Lori Harbison (Tim) and Susan M. Leighty (Curt); cherished grandfather of Richard Zarobell (Austin), Callie Zarobell, Megan Moyer, and Derek Moyer (Lindsey); and dearest great-grandfather of Ellie Mae Moyer. He was the dear brother of Timothy Pilny (Kathy), a loving uncle to Bryan and Sarah and a treasured friend to many.

A man who gave so much of himself to those around him, Chuck will be remembered for the lasting connections he made, the love he shared, and the lives he touched throughout his 81 years. His family was his greatest treasure, and his bond with Dorothy remained a lasting testament to a love that transcends a lifetime. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, Zuko, whose presence brought comfort and companionship to his life.

Though his absence will be deeply felt, Chuck’s spirit will live on through the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless memories he leaves behind. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD (ST. RT. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS where Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 22 to celebrate Chuck’s life at 6:30PM. VISITATION THURSDAY 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM.
