CAROL J. BEVAN, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Lafferty, Ohio, and raised in Maple Heights, Carol lived a life rich in family, friendship, love, and laughter. She passed away on what would have been her 67th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Keith Bevan, who preceded her in death last year.

Carol was the eldest daughter of Cheso "Archie" Demarchi and Rose Pellegrino Demarchi. She graduated from Maple Heights High School in 1955 and went on to attend Kent State University, where she earned degrees in mathematics and chemistry. During her college years, she traveled to Mexico City, sparking a lifelong love of Mexico, its culture, and its people. It was also at Kent State that she met her future husband, Keith, at a fraternity-sorority social event. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family in Solon, Ohio.

Following college, Carol began her career as a researcher for General Tire. She later chose to dedicate herself to raising her family before returning to the workforce as an educator. She taught junior high mathematics and science at St. Henry Catholic School in Warrensville Heights and later taught mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College, where she helped nursing students apply mathematical principles to their profession.

After her retirement from teaching, Carol continued her commitment to public service by serving as President of Village Council for the Village of Bentleyville in the late 90’s. During her tenure, she helped bring city water and cable television services to the community and worked closely with Cuyahoga County on projects to enhance the Chagrin River Valley. Carol was especially proud of her advocacy for improvements to the Solon Road Bridge, affectionately known in her family as “Grandma's Bridge.” Thanks to her efforts, beautification features were incorporated into the project, reflecting her vision of preserving and enhancing the area's natural beauty for generations to come.

In her free time, Carol cherished boating on Lake Erie and enjoyed spending winters in Mexico and Florida, always surrounded by family and friends. A passionate Cleveland sports fan and longtime season ticket holder for the Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her hometown teams. Carol also found great joy in music, especially the piano. She loved teaching her grandchildren piano theory and attending performances by The Cleveland Orchestra. Deeply proud of her Italian heritage, Carol delighted in bringing people together around the table, sharing cherished family recipes, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Rose Demarchi, and by her beloved husband of more than 65 years, Keith Bevan. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Merschman (Dick); daughter, Sherri Bevan Walsh (Pat); sons, David Bevan (Kris) and Tom Bevan (Carrie); and grandchildren, Nicholas Bevan (Psyche), Caroline Osborn (Brennan), Alissa Bevan, Thomas Bevan, Matthew Walsh, Jillian Bevan, Joseph Walsh, and Kennedy Bevan. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family members who will miss her deeply.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the team at Danbury Hudson, especially Susan and Shawnte, for the kindness, compassion, and exceptional care they provided to Carol over the past several years.
