BETTY TRABERT, 85, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, born on July 9, 1941 in Bedford, Ohio, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family after courageously facing a brain tumor diagnosis 15 years ago. She faced each appointment, treatment, MRI, physical therapy, and eventual setbacks and declines with hope, determination, courage, strength and her unwavering sense of humor. She touched many lives over the last 15 years, offering a funny quip or story during even the most difficult moments.

Betty was fun-loving and full of life. She loved to talk, laugh, and, most of all, connect with people. She had a way of making those around her feel welcome and loved, and she never met a stranger. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She was generous with her time helping her daughters with their growing families as well as neighbors in need, She volunteered throughout the community, and donated to many local charities.

Betty was the devoted wife of Jerry Trabert for 60 years, and the loving mother of twin daughters Deb Koperna and Sue Wahl, and daughter Pattie Knight. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Greg Koperna, Matt Wahl, and Bobby Knight.She leaves behind her grandchildren Megan Haas (David), Tommy Koperna, Grace Koperna, Andrew Wahl, Joey Wahl, Katie Wahl, Jacob Knight, Maria Knight, and Roza Knight, and her great-grandchildren Josie, Peter, and Annie Haas. One of her most cherished roles was “Gramma Betty” to her grandchildren and their friends. Betty’s laughter, stories, loving spirit, and zest for life will be deeply missed. Her family will carry her love and the memories they made with her in their hearts forever.

She lived a life full of love, laughter, and connection—and she will be forever loved.

Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, Saturday, at St. Mary’s Church in Bedford. Entombment All Saints Cemetery.
