Allen S.
Chrusciel
Jun 19, 1948 — Oct 3, 2024
ALLEN S. CHRUSCIEL, age 76, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He is the loving husband of 53 years to Christine Chrusciel; cherished father to Jennifer Ries (David), Allison Prucha (Michael), Nicole Riffie (Ryan), and Matthew (Megan) Chrusciel; adored grandpa of Nathan, Joshua, Sammy, and Maryla Prucha, and Avery Ries; beloved brother of Dan Chrusciel. Allen is the son of the late Stanley and Tillie Chrusciel.
He was born and raised in Maple Heights and served in the United States Air Force; particularly in the DMZ (Korean Demilitarized Zone) between north and south Korea. He was an electronic technician, repairing medical x-ray equipment, until he retired from Centura x-ray in 2015.
Al loved spending his time with his grandchildren, listening to Sammy's view of the universe, watching baseball games, dramas, and Irish dance performances. He cherished the time spent with Chris, the love of his life, bike riding in the valley and particularly enjoyed just sitting on the front porch with her watching the deer, sharing a beer. Al loved his garden, especially proud of his tomatoes, but didn't care for zucchini—to him it was a no-no.
Al loved sailing at the Berlin Yacht Club (BYC), with his "crew" Andy, where he and Chris would spend Sundays in the summers. He cherished his 1949 Indian motorcycle that he had hoped to someday "get back on the road"! He was a "puttering" kind of guy and could fix just about anything in his well-equipped work room downstairs. Al will be missed by many.
