Alfred Scott
Patti
Dec 11, 1954 — Mar 28, 2026
Alfred Scott Patti, 71, of Aurora, Ohio, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones and in the thoughts of others on March 28, 2026. Born in Detroit, Scott, as he was known to all, grew up in Pittsburgh, a city that was always close to his heart.
Son of the late Alfred and Joan, beloved husband to Margaret Murphy, proud father to Erica and Keaton, brother to Christine (Alan Beall) and the late Barbara, brother-in-law to Ellen Murphy Ellis (Robert Ellis), Robert Murphy (Kristen Murphy), nephew to Patricia Wecht, and uncle to Mimi Bannon (Cesar Justiniano) the late David Bannon, Murphy Ellis, Lily Ellis, Griffin Ellis, Katie Murphy, and Kourtney Murphy.
Scott was a proud 1976 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College. After school, like his father, he went into the men's fashion business, where he excelled at sales, and rose the ranks to become President of Peacock Apparel.
Always keen to give back, Scott was a lifelong blood and platelet donor, and spent his days doing volunteer work feeding the homeless, teaching English as a second language, and providing Christmas gifts to the less fortunate, just to name a few. He was selfless with his time and always looked to help support those in need, not for any fanfare or recognition, but because he believed that everyone deserves kindness and a second (or third or fourth) chance.
A dog lover through and through, Scott cherished the bonds he made with his four-legged friends. From having Basset Hounds to Chocolate Labs to Shih Tzus to Retrievers to Australian Shepherds, he always found life richer with a dog.
He was a devoted fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, but especially the Steelers - a brave thing to do while living so close to Cleveland. An avid golfer, he's certainly playing the heavenly back nine with friends and family members that passed before him.
He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, love, humor, and compassion (even for Browns fans.)
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 1st at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Our Lady of Grace, 310 Kane Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, 15243. Afterwards, friends and family are invited to a luncheon in celebration of Scott's life at St. Clair Country Club, 2300 Old Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
