On Sunday, June 2, 2019, MARY ELIZABETH JOHNSTON BOOTH lost her 2 year battle with leukemia. A native of Boston Township and Peninsula most of her 61 years, Mary is preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and Woodrow Johnston and Mary and Lorin Broughton and stepfather, Ralph Reinhart. Mary is survived by her husband, David Booth; her son, David Woodrow Booth; her father, Woodrow Johnston (Peg); her mother, Elizabeth Reinhart (Bob Clague); and her stepfather John F. Johnston; her sisters, Kelly Peters (Mark), Autumn Johnston (Marcus Walker); brother John M. Johnston (Heather) and their children, Jett, Thalia, and Rory; and step-sisters Carolyn Mourton and Lauren Smith. Mary, a graduate of Woodridge schools, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Kent State University and her Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron. She began her career in the Akron Courts with the Fanelly and Montgomery Law Firm. She ended her thirty year career in a partnership with Ida MacDonald, her very dear friend. Mary was a respected attorney in the area and did much pro bono work. In recent years, Mary served on the Council of Peninsula Village. She was a past president and present member of the Peninsula Garden Club. Mary will be sorely missed by her many cousins here and in Ireland and her very close girlfriends. She was so thankful for their many kindnesses during her illness especially her stepmother Peg; her aunt, Elaine Krusinski; and cousin Kathy Estes. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 WEST AURORA RD (OH RT 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION ON FRIDAY FROM 4-8 P.M. Funeral Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Boston Cemetery, Boston Township, Ohio. A reception with a luncheon celebrating Mary’s life will follow committal services at the GAR Hall on Main Street in Peninsula at 12:30 p.m. Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the Peninsula United Methodist Church., 1575 Main Street, Peninsula, Ohio 44264.
