Josephine Ann Lukes

JOSEPHINE ANN LUKES (nee Bova) age 86, On Thursday September 19, 2019 Josephine was reunited with her son Gary and the rest of her heavenly family. She passed holding the hand of her beloved husband Joseph Patrick Lukes of 66 years and surrounded by the love of her family. She is the  Loving mother of Craig (Tere), Dawn Gilday (Joe), Joe (Patti) and the late Gary; Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Mary Grace (Anthony), Joey, Chris, Brendan, Sean, Katelyn and Dani; Treasured great-grandmother of Clayton and James; Devoted sister of Magdalene Giorgi (Ross) and Phil. Josephine was born on March 18, 1933 to Joe and Marie Bova (nee Kuches).  She was the oldest of three children, and loved her siblings dearly. Josephine graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.  She married her husband in 1953 and together they built a life in Walton Hills, Ohio, raising four children. Josephine was everyone’s friend and she always remembered the details-from cooking holiday meals to helping create a home away from home on Kelley’s Island, she always wanted everyone to be comfortable. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Church and enjoyed attending Mass. Josephine was always young at heart and she stayed up to date with everything. She loved shopping, getting her hair done on Saturday’s, using her iphone for Facebook and candy crush, and especially having fun with her friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
